Non-Residents can now register for all Recreation Dept. Programs for an additional $10 fee. Residents can begin registering on May 1 and non-residents begin on June 6. Zumba fuses hypnotic musical rhythms & tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be FUN and EASY TO DO! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast & slow rhythms & resistance training are combined to tone & sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor & international zest into the mix and you've got Zumba®! Good for all fitness levels. Please bring water and a towel. Ditch the workout and Join the Party! Your Rec Center sign-up for Jazzercise gets you two classes per week, PLUS unlimited classes at many different times and locations (see instructor for details). Every Jazzercise class is like party, blending dance, yoga, Pilates and kickboxing moves into super-fun, easy-to-follow routines, set to all kinds of great new music. SUMMER BODIES
Mondays: June 11; Last class July 30 8 Weeks
6:30-7:30pm Held at Point Ariel Park
Cost: $40 to Alx Davis/$10 to GT (residents)
Get a work out that gets you ready for those bare limbed days of summer. This class will incorporate full body toning moves for the first 35 or 40 minutes, followed by pilates based toning to build up your core/ab strength. Instructor will supply resistance tubing to increase your excercise intensity. All levels of fitness are welcome. Please wear a good pair of sneakers and bring along 3 to 5 lb weights, a mat, water and most important, a smile.

 


 

T’AI CHI CHIH
Wednesdays: June 20; Last class August 29 10 Weeks

Experience more abundant health, harmony and balance. T’ai Chi Chih’s gentle movements release stress by relaxing and rejuvenating the body while refreshing the mind. T’ai Chi Chih is not a martial art; it is a moving meditation that balances and circulates the Chi, the intrinsic energy inherent in all life. T’ai Chi Chih consists of 19 powerful movements and 1 pose that are easily learned by anyone, regardless of age or physical condition. Open to HS students and adults.

 


 

YOGA BASIC I

This class is a workout for the mind, body and soul that brings inner and outer balance through stretching, breath work, and meditation. Yoga promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and calms anxiety. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and water. Open to HS students and adults.

Learn to work with your body’s natural strengths and abilities to get your best workout. All fitness levels welcome! Learn fitness form & fundamentals all in a fun and challenging workout! Class is open to HS students and adults. Bring a mat and light weights.

 


 

Summer Camp Tennis for Grown-Ups
June 18 - June 21 6-7:30pm
$45 to Ron Miller/$20 to Glo. Twp. Held at GT Park
Why should kids have all the fun this summer? Summer Camp Tennis for Grown-ups gives adults a chance to socialize and have outdoor fun while gaining fundamental skills of tennis such as groundstrokes, volleys, serves and scoring. Court movement activities utilize competitive games that provide a lightweight workout. Thanks to QuickStart format equipment designed for easy mastery, adults will learn tennis faster and easier than ever before. ALL EQUIPMENT IS PROVIDED. Adults may bring their own racquets if desired. Multi-student discount available. Camp limited to 8 students.

 


 

SEWING CLASS

Join us for this 3 week summer sewing session The class will focus on reading patterns. Must bring your own machine in good working order and know how to use it. For intermediate level sewing please. Open to HS students and adults.
