The Police Records Unit is part of the Support Services Division of the Police Department. The Police Records Unit is responsible for the maintenance and storage of all police reports, criminal records, arrest photographs, criminal investigations, motor vehicle crashes, and all service call reports.
Police Records Service Window:
The Police Records service window is located on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Building.
Hours: Monday through Thursday 8:00 am - 5:30 pm
Closed on Saturdays and Sundays and all Major Holidays
Police Records Fee Schedule
Copy of N.J. Traffic Crash Report (in person):
$0.75 per page (1st ten pages)
Copy of N. J. Traffic Crash Report (other than in person):
$5.00 for 1st three pages
$1.00 for each additional page
Copy of Investigation Reports, Arrest Records, Vehicle Reports, Animal Incident Reports, General Broadcast Sheets, and all other Criminal Investigation Reports:
$7.00 for 1st three pages
$0.50 for each additional page
DWI Discovery Package
$18.00
-If DWI involves Motor Vehicle Crash Report, then additional fees may apply,
($0.75 per page in person, $5.00 other than in person)
Videotapes, Sound Recordings, Digital Video Recordings
$25.00 per disc recordings
Photographs
$8.00 per photo
The above fees have been set in accordance with N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1, N.J.S.A. 39:4-131, and Gloucester Twp. Municipal Ordinance 51-1
Discovery Requests
Discovery requests made by Insurance Companies and Attorney Offices' must be made in writing and mailed to:

All persons requesting discovery must indicate the reason for the request, and must show proper identification.
Background Checks
Background checks are free of charge, and must be made in person. The person making the request must have 2 proper forms of identification. Background checks may take 7 business days to be completed.
Firearms
All applications for firearms purchase permits, and NJ State Firearms Identification Cards, may be picked up at the Police Watch Desk located at the main entrance to the Police Department. These policies are set forth in the New Jersey Criminal Justice Code N.J.S. 2C:58-3 et seq. and the New Jersey Administrative Code N.J.A.C. 13-54-1 et seq.
Fees for Firearms applications are as follows:
Fingerprinting Fees: $60.25 in Certifed Check or Money Order made payable to the New Jersey State Police
SBI
Permit to Purchase Handgun: $2.00 per permit
Firearms ID Card: $5.00
Police Communications Unit
The Gloucester Township Police Communications Unit is responsible for receiving and dispatching all emergencies that occur in the Township. The Communications Center is staffed by professional Emergency Telecommunicators 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. All 9-1-1 calls made within the Township, are received in the Police Communications Center and are dispatched to Officers on the street. Fire and Medical emergencies are forwarded to the Camden County Fire/EMS Dispatch center, so that the proper resources can be dispatched along with the Gloucester Township Police.

If you call 9-1-1 from your home landline, your address and phone number are registered in the Communications Center.
When dialing 9-1-1 from a wireless phone, please give your name, your location, nature of your emergency, who is involved, and your return phone number. The more information you can provide, the quicker we can help you.
Remember, 9-1-1 is for EMERGENCIES ONLY. Do not call 9-1-1 for traffic information, weather, or Municipal services. If you dial 9-1-1 by mistake or accidentally, DO NOT HANG UP. Stay on the phone and advise the operator. A Police Officer will respond to verify that there is no emergency.
