Mayor David R. Mayer
|A Message from the Mayor
Dave's public career began in 1989 as an aide for then Freeholder Director Robert E. Andrews, continued in Andrews' successful congressional campaign and then as director of the Congressman's district office. From 1995 to 2003, he was chief of staff to Camden County Clerk James Beach.
Dave's service as an elected official began in May 2002 when he was elected to the Gloucester Township Council. Because of Dave's strong opposition to dual office holding, he resigned from the council position when he entered the race for State Assembly in the Fourth District in 2003. Dave was elected to the State Assembly both in 2003 and then in 2005, where he served on the Assembly Transportation and Education committees. Dave did not seek reelection in 2007 to spend more time with his young family. He is married to Della and they have two children, Bryan 13 and Amanda 11.
Dave earned a B.A. from Rutgers-Camden, a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration also from Rutgers-Camden and a Law Degree from Rutgers-Camden School of Law. He has taught courses in political science, public administration and public policy at Camden County College, Rugters-Camden and Rowan University.
Dave also serves as State Director of Legislative Affairs for Comcast Corporation.

Council President Glen Bianchini
Glen Bianchini has been a member of Council since 2000 and has been Council President since 2002. Mr. Bianchini is the council liaison to the Gloucester Township Housing Authority and the Gloucester Township Municipal Utilities Authority. He has been a resident of Gloucester Township since 1989. Mr. Bianchini received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of the Sciences, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1983. He received his Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph’s University in 1990. He is a currently a Director of Pharmacy at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington Delaware. Mr. Bianchini has 5 children and spends his personal time coaching girl’s fastpitch softball for the South Jersey Bandits. He also spends time attending and supporting the local arts in Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

Orlando Mercado has been a resident of Gloucester Township since 1999 and a member of Council since 2004. Mr. Mercado received his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and his Master of Arts Degree in Business Administration for Temple University. He is a College Administrator at Richard Stockton College and an Adjunct Business Professor at Camden County College. Mr. Mercado's personal time is dedicated to raising his son, Alex, and coaching him in the Blackwood Kiwanis Little League. An avid runner, most days he can be seen running throughout the Township training for his next marathon.

Crystal Evans is dedicated to enriching the lives of Gloucester Township residents by "putting people first." Mrs. Evans has been a resident of Gloucester Township for 16 years and is married to her husband, Derrick, and they have two children, Brianna and Brandon. Prior to becoming a Councilwoman, Mrs. Evans served as a Constituent Caseworker for the New Jersey State Legislatures office where she earned a reputation for being a hard working and dedicated individual known for getting the job done and successfully serving countless constituents with various municipal, state, and federal programs. In January 2008 she was sworn into her current public office. Mrs. Evans attended Camden County College and graduated from Associated Business Careers with a certificate degree in Business. Mrs. Evans mentors youth and is the founder and creator of the Role Models program, which is geared to providing outlets and opportunities for youth and adults to participate in fashion shows, dance, and community service programs. Mrs. Evans is a member of the Our K9 Heroes program that annually honors all of our military K9 handlers and the dogs of war during Gloucester Township day. Mrs. Evans is the fashion show coordinator for the Haja Koroma Foundation that is dedicated to Haja who lost her life in 2008. The foundation is geared to raise scholarship assistance for those less fortunate. The foundation serves as a dedication for the memory of Haja Koroma.

Ken Garbowski has been a life long resident of Gloucester Township and a 1980 graduate of Triton High School. Ken has been married for 25 years to his wife Sherri, a nurse manager. He is also the proud father of Samantha, a 2010 graduate of Drexel University and Eric a junior at Paul VI High School. Ken served a 4 year apprenticeship in the New Jersey Carpenters Union. He is now Vice president of local 393 and Council Representative for Camden and Gloucester counties. Ken is council liaison for the Blackwood Lake Advisory Committee and Gloucester Township Economic Development Corporation.

Michelle Gentek has been a resident of Gloucester Township for 18 years. She is an active member of the community. Michelle is an advocate for public safety and has been the chairperson for the neighborhood watch program in her development for 12 years. Michelle is the council liaison to Parks and Recreation, the Historical Society and the green team for Sustainable Gloucester Township. She resides with her three boys in the southern part of town.

Dan Hutchison has been a resident of Gloucester Township since 1995. Dan is married to Karen and has four children, Katie, Shawn, Nick and Brian. During his residency in Gloucester Township, Dan has volunteered as a soccer commissioner, soccer coach, baseball coach, basketball coach and Tiger Scout Den Leader. He has also sponsored the local football, soccer, lacrosse and baseball organizations as well as providing contributions on a yearly basis to the Boy Scouts.
Dan received a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Rider College in 1989. Thereafter, he passed the CPA exam in 1991 and attended Widener's Legal Education Institute for paralegal studies in 1992. Dan graduated from Widener University Law School with a J.D. in 1995. He opened a law office in 1997 which centered on helping people cope in difficult financial times. Additionally, he is the Gloucester County Regional Coordinatior for the Financial Literacy Program. This program requires him to visit high schools throughout Camden and Gloucester Counties to discuss the pitfalls of obtaining credit and using it unwisely.

Franklin Schmidt is a life long resident of Gloucester Township, and a product of the Gloucester Township school district and Little League sports programs. Mr. Schmidt is the council liaison to the Evironmental and Open Space Advisory Committee. He is married to his wife, Cathy, who is a guidance counselor at Ann Mullen Middle School. They have two children, Samantha age 7 and Zachary age 5. Frank has been an educator and administrator in the community for the past 29 years. He has taught Physical Science at C.W. Lewis Middle School, taught Physical and Biological Sciences at Glen Landing Middle School, and was Vice Principal at Ann Mullen for the first three years of its existence. Along with his academic service to our community, Frank has also coached football and weightlifting at Highland and Triton, baseball at Highland and boys softball at Glen Landing. He also served seven years on the Blackhorse Regional School Board. He has been a Gloucester Township Councilmember for 12 years.

Regular Session and Executive Session Meetings of the Township Council shall be held on the above dates at 7:30 pm (prevailing time) at the Gloucester Township Municipal Building, Chews Landing Road, Chews Landing, New Jersey.
Town Meetings for 2011
The Gloucester Twp. Council will be having local town meetings throughout the Twp in 2011. This will be in addition to their regularly scheduled meetings. These meetings will be informal & will let the residents know about local government happenings. Below is a schedule of the meeting dates and locations for 2011:
February 16, 2011 - Erial School Library
May 18, 2011 - Chews Fire Hall
October 19, 2011 - Pt. Ariel Park
