REGISTRATION INFORMATION

June 6, 2011 Non-Resident Registration

 

Non-Residents can now register for all Recreation Dept. Programs for an additional $10 fee. Residents can begin registering on May 2 and non-residents begin on June 6. Call 856-435-5734 for more info.

Registration for programs and bus trips are held at the Recreation Center beginning at 8am and will continue until the program or trip reaches capacity.

Space is limited for all programs and trips. In-person registration is required for all activities. Registration forms must be filled out by the participant or parent/guardian. All programs require advanced registration. Make checks payable to “Twp. of Gloucester” except where otherwise noted; two separate checks may be necessary.

Bring a valid drivers license and second proof of residency to registration to receive resident rate. Preschool registration also requires a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate & medical records.

Full refunds will be given if the Recreation Dept cancels a trip or program due to low enrollment. We reserve the right to cancel a trip or program if enough people have not registered in advance.

Program refunds will be given minus a $10.00 processing fee. This refund must be requested before 20% of the scheduled classes are completed. Trip refunds will only be given if a replacement can be found. Trip refunds are also subject to a $10.00 processing fee. Please bring your receipt to the office for processing. All refunds take 30-45 days to process.


 


LITTLE TIKES CHEER CAMP

July 11-15 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Cost: $40 to Diane Jones/$20 to Glo. Twp.
Join this fun camp designed just for ages 3-5. Your child will learn
the basics of cheerleading including jumps, motions, cheers and
chants. Basic tumbling and dancing will be covered too. Last
night will be a Pep Rally to show off our skills. Learn from an
experienced coach not only cheerleading skills, but teamwork and
the love of the sport. Held at the Rec Center.


 


BASKETBALL CAMP
1. July 11-15 Grades K-4 1-4pm
2. Aug 8-12 Grades K-4 9am-Noon
3. Aug 8-12 Grades 5-8 1-4 pm
$40 to C. Senatore/$20 to Glo. Twp.
The focus of this camp is to teach basketball skills. Have fun during
this camp while learning the fundamentals of the sport through
skill building. Please bring a drink and a snack daily and wear
sneakers. Instructor Charles Senatore is back for his 13th year!
Held at the Rec Center.


 


TENNIS CAMP
1. June 27-June 30 6-8pm
2. August 8-11 8:30-10:30am
$50 to Ron Miller/$20 to Glo. Twp. Held at GT Park
This camp gives ages 7-12 a chance to have fun while focusing
on the fundamental tennis skills of groundstrokes (forehand &
backhand), airstrokes (volley, serve, & overhead), court movement,
tennis etiquette, and proper scoring. Students will develop
abilities through drills, learning activities, and competitive games.


 

JUMPBUNCH SPORTS & FITNESS FOR KIDS
Wednesdays: June 22, Last Class July 27 6 Weeks
6:15 - 7:00pm Held at the Recreation Center
Cost: $55 to JumpBunch/$10 to Glo. Twp.
JumpBunch is a fun, structured program that introduces children
to a wide range of sports, helps build coordination, self-esteem
and a life-long love of sports and fitness. JumpBunch introduces
children to sports and fitness in a non-competitive, hands-on setting.
All activities are designed to improve gross motor skills,
hand/eye coordination and body balance.


 

JUMPBUNCH TODDLER CLASS

Wednesdays: June 22, Last Class July 27 6 Weeks
5:30 - 6:00pm Held at the Recreation Center
Cost: $48 to JumpBunch/$10 to Glo. Twp.
JumpBunch Toddler classes introduce our younger students to
sports and fitness in a fun start-up setting. The classes are 30
minutes in length and will include warm ups, exercises, stretching,
sports exploration, bubbles and more. Parents are welcome to
participate with their child.


 

YOUTH DANCE CLASS
Mondays: June 20; Last Class August 15 8 Weeks
$40 to J. Meyers/$10 to Glo. Twp. Held at Rec Center
This dance class is the 1st step in educating your child in the
world of music and dance. Children will become aware of different
types of rhythm and temps and will be taught basic tap and
ballet steps. This class is taught by an instructor and mom with
over 25 years experience. Ballet shoes are not required.
Mondays 5-6pm Ages 2 - 4
Mondays 6-7pm Ages 5 & 6


 

GVSA SOCCER CAMP
June 27-June 30 6:00pm - 8:00pm
$65 to Goran Vasic/$20 to Glo. Twp
Join former Philadelphia Kixx & NJ Ironman Player/Asst. Coach
Goran Vasic for soccer camp. Learn fundametal skills including
dribbling, passing, shooting, joggling, one-on-one defense and
offense. There will be variety of fun games thru the camp. Goran
currently holds a coaching license from USSF. To get more info

com. Campers should bring soccer shoes, shin guards, a
water bottle, and a ball. Open to ages 6-14. Friday will be used
as a raindate. Held at GT Community Park.


 


SWIM CAMP
August 8-11 10:00am - 11:30am
Cost: $60 to Gloucester Twp. or $70 to Nonresidents
This camp is for children ages 8 - 14 who are intermediate swimmers
and have had experience with swimming and want to
improve his/her techniques through learning competitive swim
skills. Friday will be used as a raindate. Held at the GT Pool.


 


YOUTH QUICKSTART TENNIS
Saturdays: June 11; Last class July 23
$55 to Ron Miller/$10 to Glo. Twp
Held at GT Community Park
This new tennis format promoted by the United States Tennis
Association (USTA) provides fun activities and court experience
that emphasize basic skills with strokes, terms, movement and
scoring through the use of instructional games, scaled-down court
size, and specialized rackets and balls designed for quick success.
Child sized racket & balls provided. Class size is limited to
a maximum of 14 per class.
Ages 6-8 8:45am - 9:55am
Ages 6-8 10am - 11:10am
Ages 8-10 11:15am - 12:25pm


 

COLLEGE ESSAY WRITING
9:00am - 12 noon Held at Point Ariel Park
$40 to Chris Ahern/$10 to Glo. Twp. per Seminar
Give your child a head start this summer! This class is designed
for high school students who are interested in creating a college
entrance essay that will stand out above the rest. It is also
designed for any high school student who wishes improve his or
her writing. This class is led by Chris Ahern, a certified high
school teacher who has his master's degree and over 13 years
experience in teaching writing.

PSAT PREP COURSE
August 1-4 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Cost: $250 to Walt Kruc/$10 to Glo. Twp.
Held at Point Ariel Park Community Center
This course covers the Reading, Writing and Math sections of the
PSAT. In addition to the content curriculum, learn tips and techniques
of how to beat the PSAT at its own game, resulting in an
increase in the student’s score. If your child experiences test anxiety
or has difficulty using test prep books & prepackaged courses,
this course provides an alternative. Open to HS Students.
