Gloucester Township is situated in the eastern portion of Camden County, NJ, and is strategically located 15 miles southeast of Philadelphia, PA. The Township falls within the Philadelphia, PA-NJ Metropolitan Statistical Area which has an estimated population of almost 5 million, allowing local businesses to reach over 30% of the nation’s population. With land area of 23.14 miles and a population estimated at 65,000, Gloucester Township is the 4th largest municipality in Camden County, encompassing the unincorporated historic villages of Glendora, Chews Landing, Hilltop, Blenheim, Blackwood, Lambs Terrace, Erial and Sicklerville.
Located 90 miles south of New York City and approximately 100 miles north of the Baltimore/Washington region, it affords overnight vehicular access to over 30% of the purchasing power of the United States. The Township has excellent access to the state’s major transportation arteries making it an excellent location for business and industry. Gloucester Township offers direct access to NJ Rt. 42 and the Atlantic City Expressway, direct links between Philadelphia and Atlantic City.
While the Township is primarily a suburban residential area, it is home to several industrial and office parks. The community is served by a number of retail centers, two golf courses and is home to the main campus of Camden County College. In addition, there is an estimated 1,000 acres of developable commercial and industrial zoned property.
The Township provides a full range of municipal services including police, fire and emergency services, public works and recreation. Sewer service is provided to all properties at one of the lowest rates in Camden County.
