JOB OPPORTUNITY

PLUMBING SUBCODE OFFICIAL – Part Time

Additional Licenses Highly Preferred:
ELECTRICAL, FIRE, BUILDING

TOWNSHIP OF GLOUCESTER

Open to NJ Residents

8-12 HOURS TOTAL PER WEEK (4-6 hours per day at least two days a week)

$35.47 per hour

Responsible for administering the plumbing subcode of the State Uniform Construction Code within the concerned jurisdiction, and inspects and/or supervises the inspection of plumbing work in construction projects underway to ensure that compliance with plans and specifications approved in accord with the State Uniform Construction Code is achieved; does related work as required.

Applicants must possess a valid license as a Plumbing Subcode Official issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

Appointees will be required to possess a valid New Jersey driver's license.

Strong consideration for additional licenses including Building Subcode Official license, Electrical Subcode Official issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Electrical Inspector license, and/or Fire Protection Inspector license.

Applicant must have the ability to perform the following functions and will be required to obtain Registrar of Vital Statistics license within six (6) months of start date to maintain position of Deputy:

Assists in developing procedures for obtaining prompt and accurate reports of births, marriages, and deaths.
Passes on the certificates and other forms used in reporting births, marriages, and deaths.
Checks all certificates to see that they are properly filled out and completed.
Collects fees and accounts for the monies collected.
Organizes assigned work and develops effective work methods.
Ability to maintain confidentiality; utilize good judgment and discretion.
Ability to meet deadlines and work criteria.
Ability to assist Payroll Administrator with payroll processing and reporting.
o Input employee hours and earnings.
o Input any payroll adjustments.
o Maintain payroll records for all employees.

Assist customers at counter and on telephone in response to tax inquiries including computer file research, payment processing, process print-outs for outside search companies, complete tax searches (process payment, list, print, modify, copy, send, maintain files).
Must have excellent math skills and ability to count, handle, and reconcile large amounts of cash.
Assist staff in sorting and mailing collections-related billings and notices, and processes certified mailings for tax sale certificates.
Opens and processes daily mail.
Assists staff with general office duties including filing, record keeping and file maintenance.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Tax Collector.
