Gloucester Township Recycles
|
Recycling is the Law
All residents are reminded that recycling is indeed the law, both statewide and locally. But the benefits of recycling should also be seriously considered. By removing recyclables from the regular trash flow, we help save our environment. And each ton of trash that is recycled helps to save tax dollars that would otherwise be spent on rising trash disposal fees. |
|
How to Recycle
* All recyclables should be placed at curbside (not in the street) so that they can be easily identified by the collection crews.
* Your trash and recyclables must be put out no earlier than 4:00 P.M. the day prior to collection day, but no later that 5:00 A.M. on the collection day. |
|
Recycling Containers
* New residents may pick up a container at the Public Works Building (228-3144). Residents that need andditional containers may purchase them at the Township Municiapl Building (228-4000).
* The yellow, 20-gallon bucket supplied by the Township is for glass, metal (refers to aluminum or ferrous metal cans) and plastic recyclables ONLY. (No plastic bags). Please keep brush, leaves, and grass separate from these recyclables.
* Please Note: For containers that are left outside, residents are urged to drill (2) 1/4" holes near the bottom to alleviate the problem of excess weight due to water or ice. Residents please limit the weight of each container or bag to forty (40) pounds |

The Department of Public Works will be starting leaf collection on Oct. 29, 2007. A second collection will begin Dec. 3, 2007. The collection schedule is organized by voting districts.
To make this program a success, read instructions and adhere to the following:
- Do not bag leave
- Have all leaves out the weekend prior to your scheduled week.
- Rake all leaves curbside/ do not rake leaves into street if it will block traffic.
- Do not mix trash and broken branches with leaves. This will clog the machines and your leaves will not be picked up.
