LANDLORD REGISTRATION
| A. |
The landlord registration requirement applies to all rental premises or units used for dwelling purposes except owner-occupied premises with not more than two rental units.

| B. |
Within 30 days of transfer of ownership, or creation of new apartments, owner must file appropriate registration statements with:
|

1. |
The Municipal Clerk of the municipality in which the residential property is situated for one or two family non-owner occupied rental dwelling;
|
|
2. |
For dwellings with more than two rental units:
|
|
|
a. |
Landlord must go to the Bureau of Housing Inspection in the NJ Department of Community Affairs.
|
|
|
b. |
DCA sends copy of field statement to Municipal Clerk for the public records of the municipality.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION (PDF 90KB)
NOTE: For single family or duplex units a registration fee of $50.00 per rental unit must accompany the Certifcate of Registration form which is submitted to the Municpal Clerk's Office. For further information call 856-228- 4000, x241. In addition you must contact the clerk's office for additional information regarding required rental property inspections. | |
